Purchased from Benz Spring Company, this 1.5" add-a-leaf was a great
addition to the truck. I recently got a set of BFG AT/KO 295/75R16's on
and they rubbed a little. Had to remove the ProFlaps mudflaps. Here is the install of the springs.

If it's one thing you need to do is jack these
baby's up! We spent most of our time raising and lowering things. Our problem
started with only
have a 1-1/2 ton Jack which made it creak when you lifted the front up. We
placed nice
six ton jacks just behind the spring hangers. These we up pretty
high. Hindsight being twenty-twenty, it would have been a heck of a lot
easier with a lift to raise the whole system up as we spent more time jacking
than actual installing.

Well,
we got the wheel off. After that, we
removed the ubolts and dropped the axle down as far as we could go. Note below the distance on the brake cable. This proved to be a problem
later during the spring insertion.

Here's my buddy Chris chopping out the rear leaf spring retaining clip.
Watch the sparks
fly!
After the clip was removed, we lower the axle as far as we could. We
would find out soon that the brake line on the passenger side was extremely
short. So short we had a heck of a time squeezing the spring in. We
were almost ready to drop the front bumper off; which would
have made the job easier. We had to drop the rear spring from the hanger;
but luckily after a few minutes of scratching the head and trying different
attack angles, we managed to squeeze it in place just fine. Re-aligned the
center pin after cutting it to length. Oh, sometimes the realigning
requires a come-a-long. Glad we had one handy. The we replaced the
u-bolts and re-torqued as required for even pressures. Slap the wheel back
on and move on to the other side. Here is one of the leaves installed; but still on
jacks.

The second side went much quicker as we had experience under our belts
and a
longer brake line! The resultant lift is pictured
below. The lift gained in the 1.5-2.0"
range. Just a slight forward raking. Great for when I put the
trailer on the back!
